This class is designed to aid better understanding of what a confined space is and how to properly identify and work in such spaces.  This class studies applicable regulations, typical confined space hazards, control measures as well as proper equipment selection, inspection, and use.  This class consists of two (2) parts including classroom and hands-on outdoor exercises with a 12’ x 8’ x 8’ simulator.

The training exercises properly prepare entrants, attendants, supervisors, and rescuers to respond to an incident quickly and competently.  Training exercises are scientifically designed to get participants mentally engaged, encourage creative problem solving, and foster a positive team attitude.

All participants must be prepared for outdoor activity and those who want to experience the simulator must wear long pants, long-sleeve shirt, and work type boots; steel toe protective footwear is not required.  High heels and open toe footwear are not permitted.  Hard-hats, safety glasses, and gloves must be worn and are not provided.  Participants that are not comfortable experiencing the simulator may observe and learn!  Classroom instruction will be expanded if weather prohibits utilizing the simulator.

Attendees that successfully complete this class will receive a Certificate of Completion.  This class begins Monday, May 4 at 12:30 pm and continues Tuesday, May 5.  Attendees must participate in the entire duration of both classes to be eligible for testing, training credit, and certificate.  This class is limited to the first forty (40) paid registrants.  You can select the class during the registration process and each class is filled on a first-come, first-served basis.  Although it is highly unlikely, KSHN reserves the right to cancel any class that does not meet the minimum number of students.  But that never happens; classes fill quickly so register early!
